Death Before Life



She wanted to come out. She was excited. For long she has been inside and wanted to know life. She could hear voices. She felt like the voices were saying she will be out soon.
She felt frustrated and started wriggling. As soon as she showed her restlessness, she heard that voice. It was the sweet voice which she felt soothing always. It was a special voice which always talked to her. Whenever she didn’t feel fine she would hear this voice. The voice kept telling her different things. She felt the voice closest to her. Then the Day came. She was going to be free bird.

All were tensed and excited. They prayed to all the Gods they knew. They heard the cries inside.

She felt the pain increasing every moment. She felt like dying at the moment. People were surrounding her and saying something. But she couldn’t hear properly. Pain was intolerable.

And that was it. She was overwhelmed and didn’t know how to express herself. She started crying out of happiness.

They heard the child cry and were very happy. They just wished it would be a boy.

She was all excited to know this new world and meet all those voices who talked to her especially that special sweet voice.

And that was it. She heard cries and knew it was over. She was overjoyed. The Doctor smiled and showed her the girl. One glance at the kid and all her happiness vanished. It was a Girl-child

The doctor came out wishing them joy. They all looked at the doctor with eagerness. The doctor wished them joy informing them that it was girl child. All the happiness and eagerness left their faces.

She didn’t know what was happening. She felt very strange. She felt like suffocating. Slowly she couldn’t feel herself. She was dying.

She cursed herself and felt guilty. She kept asking for forgiveness in her mind to her daughter who was lying dead in front of her.

They felt angry. They hadn’t wanted a boy but it was a girl who would be a burden on them. This was the best thing. She had to die.

Doctor saw the family going out of the hospital. She felt sad and angry. This wasn’t the first case she was seeing. There are numerous families who come here and when they know the child born is a girl, either they kill her or abandon her. And with all the constraints she couldn’t do anything. She has tried hard to explain to the families but even the most educated of the families don’t listen.

She turned and saw TV on. The news channel was showing the Women who have made difference in this world. She closed her eyes and on one side saw the dead girl and on the other side those famous women. She heard the news reader saying – Today is Women’s Day. Let’s empower!!














This is the Irony of life – On one side celebrating a few women and on the other side killing the rest.

The First Few Days In Cognizant

So Finally I joined Cognizant!! *Cheers* *Claps* *Laughs* Thank You, Thank You!!! :) I know for long time that I’ve been telling people that I’ll be joining Cognizant, but then I myself didn’t have any clue as to when! He was very excited. More than attending Raj's Wedding or the Sight seeing, he would get sometime to spend with Madhuri. Till now they had talked over the phone or chatted but had not met personally after the train meet. In the past few weeks he had started liking her a lot.
